Assalamualaikum warahmatullah, how are you everyone?
As we have know the 29th SEA Games kicked off on Saturday with a stunning light show at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. The grand opening of 29th SEA Games was been launched with gloriously by The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V in Bukit Jalil. As usual our lecturer had given us a new topic for this week entry, the topic is about our contribution in the SEA Games as Malaysian. Talking about sport actually I really love sport. I'm still remember when I was 8, I had represented my school in the swimming competition, and alhamdulilah I had won the first place.
Everyone did you knew the SEA Game history? this is an information about SEA Games that I had got from Wikipedia
The
Southeast Asian Games owes its origins to the South East Asian
Peninsula Games or SEAP Games. On the 22 May 1958,
delegates from the countries in Southeast Asian Peninsula attending the Asian Games in Tokyo, Japan had a
meeting and agreed to establish a sport organisation. The SEAP Games was
conceptualised by Luang Sukhum Nayaoradit, then Vice-President of the Thailand
Olympic Committee. The proposed rationale was that a regional sports event will
help promote co-operation, understanding and relations among countries in the
Southeast Asian region.
Six
countries, Burma (now Myanmar), Kampuchea (now Cambodia), Laos, Malaya (now Malaysia), Thailand and Vietnamwere the founding members. These
countries agreed to hold the Games biennially in June 1959 and SEAP Games
Federation Committee was formed thereafter.[1]
The first
SEAP Games was held in Bangkok from 12–17
December 1959 comprising of more than 527 athletes and officials from Thailand,
Burma, Malaya (now Malaysia), Singapore, South Vietnam and Laos participating
in 12 sports.
At the 8th
SEAP Games in 1975, the SEAP Federation considered the inclusion of Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines. These countries were formally
admitted in 1977, the same year when SEAP Federation changed their name
to Southeast
Asian Games Federation (SEAGF), and the games were known as
the Southeast Asian Games. East Timor was admitted at the 22nd
Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.
The 2009
Southeast Asian Games was the first time Laos has ever hosted a
Southeast Asian Games (Laos had previously declined hosting the 1965 Southeast
Asian Peninsular Games citing financial difficulties). Running from 9–18
December, it has also commemorated the 50 years of the Southeast Asian Games,
held in Vientiane, Laos.
That's a history about SEA Games, and surely now all of you have know what the meaning of SEA hahaha...actually I also was wandering what is the meaning of SEA acronym before this. As Malaysian we have many ways to contribute in the SEA Games. First, we as Malaysian have to show a good manner to foreigner during this SEA Games held in our country. By this, surely it will boost up our country name in the eyes of the world. For me it's really important as to know the country we have to their people first . If we show a good manner, they ( foreign athlete in the SEA Games) surely it will promote our country to their friend and family to visit Malaysia when they are going back to their country soon. Our economy also will grow up because if many tourist visit our country they will spend their money in our country, when they buy goods for example.
Then the other way that we can contribute in the SEA Games is by watching the sport event either live or just through television. When we are watching the SEA Games it will give the moral support to our country's contingent. It will help them to boost up their internal spirit, when our athlete have a very high spirit, I bet they will defeat their opponent easily, Insha Allah. Then our country's contigent will succeed to get myriad of gold medal! Our country ,will be annouced as the entire winner in all sports that our athlete have take place.
We all are in 21st century right? why not we use a technology to show our support to our athletes. This is a very simple medium which can gives high impact, we can make a short video which the content of a speech that contains a word which can support our athletes, i suggest then we just put #hashtag #wesupportmalaysianathleteKL2017. I'm sure this will be viral and it might be watch by our athletes, just imagine if all of us do the same thing? it will help them to increase their spirit. They will be very confident and they can beat up their opponent easily, victory for Malaysia !
Conclusively, as a Malaysian we need to show our support to our country's contingent and all the athlete. This is because they all have bbrought our country's name in the eyes of the world, we need to support them as to ensure they will perform well. When they win, and get a first place in any sport it will bring up our country name among other countries surely they will respect our country, because we are the winner. In order to show support to our athlete we also have to pray for their success and may Allah s.w.t bless them because they have represent our country. That's all for now, I'm hoping that all of you are over enjoed to read my blog. Wassalamualaikum waramatullah...
